Notes from meeting 3 May 2016

  • Traffic Infringement Workshop report by Judy H was discussed
  • Carol  reports QJA have indicated that proposed JPs in hospitals program has stalled. Currently the hospitals have a list of JPs willing to be called to the hospitals.
  • Logbook templates. Kay to send JPB Tip Bulletin and QJA Q&A which is available as a note.
  • Mini Workshop. Suggested topic Electronic media documents. To be considered further.
  • JP Branch Strategic Plan 2016-2020 was presented and discussed.
  • ToK participants list is held by Michael. It was decided not to make it public. Participants tocontact Michael if they wish to contact another participant.
  • Affidavits. Kay has been researching the requirements for different courts. Work is ongoing.
  • Registering a relationship. This has now changed to Registering a Civil Partnership.Applications on the old forms are not acceptable.
  • Lands Title Case. Linda spoke of the use of Transfer Form 1 for transferring a lease. Who has the right to transfer the lease, the current lessee or the original owner? Linda to follow up.
  • Lands Title transfer to a beneficiary (Form 6) documents required include Title details. Kay to send workshop information which is now available as a note.
  • The first QJA e-newsletter provided a useful summary on witnessing Statutory Declarations. Michael has linked to this newsletter and summary document on his blog.
  • Next meeting Tuesday 7 June. Jenny has confirmed the use of Emerald Lakes Community Room.
