Linda provided these notes:

Kay provided a review of the meeting on 17 August and advised notes from that meeting are on the website.  There was some general discussion about Land Title documents and about how certain JPs may be signing these when they should not, and how clients will tend to "JP shop" to find someone who will sign them.

Search Warrants - Kay, Michael W and Judy P provided a comprehensive review of signing Search Warrants, including what Warrants JPs can and cannot sign and how to ask questions.  Kay and Judy P also provided Linda with some printed checklists and examples, which were gratefully received.

Registration Form - We discussed the new JPs in the Community Volunteer Registration Form, which has been sent out for all JPs to complete and return directly to JP branch.  It was agreed that the form is very confusing and badly drafted.  Linda wondered whether the three places on the form referring to signing site location referred to current or past and present volunteering.  Linda later confirmed with JP branch that the form is designed to capture all places JPs currently volunteer at.

Michael W advised there are upcoming workshops being put on by JP branch on the Gold Coast.  These are:
